This validation workshop presented African countries that had responded to the CABRI Budget Practices and Procedures questionnaires, with preliminary trends emerging from the 2015 survey, comparisons with the results of the 2008 survey and encouraged countries to reflect on the issues and outcomes of their own country’s PFM systems. The workshop sessions presented African countries’ progress in strengthening their budget systems and how they compared with their peers in terms of budget practices and procedures. Participants were invited to reflect on ways they could use newly acquired and context-based knowledge in developing and driving meaningful PFM reforms.
