The broad objective of this Value for Money in Health workshop was to explore, share and identify strategies to maximize the use of the available limited resources to the sector to improve Nigeria’s health related outcomes. Specific objectives of the workshop were:

• To review current trends and explore new opportunities to improving efficiency in the use of available funds to the health sector;
• To discuss and share experiences and good practices on value for money in Health from Africa and related countries;
• To discuss and agree upon ways in which Nigeria can improve healthcare financing;
• To discuss examples of delivery or implementation challenges and solutions; and
• To explore innovative and untapped sources of finance as alternative means of financing expenditure
