On 14 September, Dr Kay Brown, Executive Secretary of CABRI, met with the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to South Africa, H.E. Nyakeru Kalunga for a high-level introductory briefing.

The primary objective of the visit was to present CABRI’s work in enhancing public financial management and to officially invite the DRC to join CABRI’s growing network of member states. The meeting, which was attended by M. René Sola Lufungula, Finance Officer at the Embassy of DRC in Pretoria, was characterised by significant enthusiasm from the DRC delegation, signaling a strong interest in collaborative peer-learning and budget reform. 

This engagement marks the beginning of what we anticipate will be a fruitful relationship in advancing fiscal high-performance in the DRC.
