On Monday, 15 June, Dr Kay Brown, Executive Secretary and Soomsyra Lowe Nicolas, Executive : Operations at CABRI paid a courtesy visit to the High Commissioner of The Gambia in South Africa, H.E. Dr. Fatoumata Jahumpa-Ceesay. 

The Gambia officially became a CABRI member country in 2014. The Gambia has actively participated in various CABRI programmes and initiatives aimed at enhancing its public financial management (PFM) systems prior to becoming a member country.

The Gambia's partnership with CABRI has led to significant advancements in its PFM landscape. Some of the key achievements of this partnership include the implementation of program-based budgeting, development of a medium-term debt management strategy, participation in policy dialogues on value for money in agriculture and water sectors and strengthening the role of the legislature in the budget process.

Most recently and notably, The Gambia joined CABRI in the digital conference aimed at enhancing PFM through digital transformation. This conference and work received the notable championship of the Honourable Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Mr Seedy K. M. Keita.

The Gambia was also elected to the Chairmanship of CABRI's Management Committee for 2025-2027.
