The 2025 CABRI Budget Practices and Procedures (BPP) Survey of 18 African countries suggests that the publication of core fiscal documents is now relatively widespread: all 18 countries publish approved budgets, 14 produce citizens’ budgets and 15 make medium-term expenditure framework (MTEF) documents and in-year fiscal reports publicly available. Digitalisation has also expanded the reach of fiscal information, with functioning integrated financial management information system (IFMIS) platforms in 15 countries (83%).
